Co-founder and Production Stage Manager
My foundational experience in theatre began with a cross-country move to help launch Sojourn Theatre, a company that holds a special place in my heart. This immersive experience immediately after graduate school provided an invaluable opportunity to hone my project coordination. Working alongside the artistic and ensemble teams, I helped build the company and its productions from the ground up, developing shows from initial concepts and rehearsal explorations to fully realized performances. We embraced unconventional venues, transforming spaces like courtrooms, a warehouse, and high school lunchrooms into dynamic theatrical environments, in addition to traditional theatre settings. This required creative problem-solving and a keen understanding of budget management to ensure each production's unique vision was fully realized. Furthermore, I facilitated out-of-state travel to create community-based work, immersing ourselves in different cultures and addressing local issues through our storytelling. This experience instilled in me a deep appreciation for collaborative creation, adaptability, and the power of theatre to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
